There are a few podcasts I listen to every week, and those include TWiT (This Week in Tech) by Leo Laporte, and MacBreak Weekly, also hosted by Leo and on the TWiT network. All of the TWiT podcasts come in many formats and you can choose whichever you desire. Other podcasts on the TWiT network … Continue reading Dan Carlin’s Hardcore History Podcast
Last year I posted the rain and temperature data for 2017, our first full year here in the northwest. That data can be found here. The 2018 data is listed below. About a week ago, Rose asked what I thought about taking a road trip for Christmas. She was interested in visiting Cape Disappoinment State Park and the light house and other sites there. She called around last week and found a place to stay. Alicia had some time off and we wanted her to come … Continue reading Cape Disappointment and the Pacific Ocean for Christmas
Tonight we received the “lighted flag” that I ordered the other day. I hung it up on the front of the house this evening and it looks very nice. Rose did all the other lighting decorations earlier in the week.
Today we travelled to Hurricane Ridge in Olympic National Park to take our Christmas photo that had snow in the background. There was about 10” of new snow and we took a bunch of pictures to consider for the card. This year instead of ordering the cards online having them printed and then sending, we … Continue reading Hurricane Ridge Today
Made a double batch of pizzelles tonight and packaged them up and mailing them to Dad tomorrow. He should have them by the end of the week. I want to send him some more but wanted to get these in the mail so he will have them for Thanksgiving.
The new gutters were installed today. Rose said it was two guys and it only took a couple of hours. They did a nice job. We ordered them through Lowe’s this past summer but had them wait to install until painting was complete and the wood was repaired.
We worked outside today until late afternoon when it started to rain. We pruned back those crazy blackberries and decided to make a fire to get rid of the prunings. The pictures show Rose splitting some wood to get the fire going. Of course Luna is always near by to keep an eye on us. … Continue reading Pruned the Blackberries
This morning I received a frantic call from Alicia. She was crying and hard to understand. My first thought was that she had been in an accident. Alicia’s next words were Luna jumped out of the truck. My heart sank thinking she was injured or worse. Alicia finally was able to tell me she had jumped … Continue reading Luna Jumped Out of the Truck!
I pressure washed the shop yesterday (Sunday). We are expecting sunny weather for another week so it gives us some time to get some painting done and make the shop match the house. Rose rolled the west side today. Some cut in and the grooves of the siding need touch up with my brush. The … Continue reading Started Painting Shop
